With deep sadness we report the passing of our dear friend and colleague Richard A. Grimm, Jr. Dick was a valued senior partner in our firm and his firm before the Grimm and Magavern firms merged in 1994. He practiced law for almost six decades, representing a long list of devoted clients, both highly prominent and of humble means, with an equally fierce dedication to all.
Coming to work each day was a brighter experience for each of us, as we would almost invariably be greeted by the crisply dressed Dick Grimm full volume with a smile and insightful wisecrack appropriate for the day’s occasion. He was known to his intimate friends as "The Whipper," a renowned prankster. Golf and a gathering with his lifelong friends was his perfect day.
As much as he loved his work, Dick’s priorities were always in perspective. His devotion to his wife Gretchen, his six children and many grandchildren was the most important element of his life. Our thoughts are with the Grimm family at this time, including his children Rich Grimm and Ellen Grimm Spencer, partners in our firm.
