Partner Aven Rennie presented at the Bar Association of Erie County's continuing legal education seminar this past fall on "Legal, Medical and Ethical Aspects of End-of-Life and Palliative Care Planning: What Every Lawyer Needs to Know." She presented on the Family Health Care Decisions Act, and New York law permitting medical decision-making for incapacitated hospital, nursing home and hospice patients by family members and others in certain circumstances. Ms. Rennie represents hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living residences and physician practices in health law and related matters.
