William J. Magavern, II is senior counsel to the Buffalo, New York law firm of Magavern Magavern Grimm LLP. He concentrates in the areas of corporate law, commercial and residential real estate law, wills, trusts and estates.
Mr. Magavern was selected for inclusion in the 2010 New York Super Lawyers - Upstate Edition in the business/corporate practice area and in the 2011 Super Lawyers - Business Edition in the business/corporate practice area.
Mr. Magavern is admitted to practice in all New York State courts, the United States District Court for the Western District of New York, the United States Tax Court, the United States Court of Claims and the United States Supreme Court. He served for 31 years as an Officer and Director of the Albright-Knox Art Gallery. He has served as Chairman, Buffalo State College Foundation, Inc.; President, Erie County Mental Health Association; President, International Institute; President, Buffalo Council on World Affairs; a Director, Burchfield Penney Art Center, an Incorporator of the Allentown Association, and a member of the Erie County Cultural Advisory Board, and the Buffalo Arts Commission.
Mr. Magavern is a graduate of Dartmouth College and University at Buffalo Law School.
