Aven Rennie, a partner in the Buffalo, New York law firm of Magavern Magavern Grimm LLP, concentrates her practice in health law and health law litigation.
Ms. Rennie represents a large area hospital system, numerous skilled nursing facilities, assisted living residences, physician practice groups, and other private clients.
She prosecutes adult guardianship proceedings, assists with complex Medicaid coverage issues, provides advice regarding medical consent and surrogacy issues, and assists with health care facility revenue protection and collection matters. She has conducted physician fair hearings under hospital bylaws and advised hospital administrators in patient ethics. She has represented a large area HMO and a large area hospital system in commercial litigation involving contract disputes.
Ms. Rennie was admitted to the Bar in 1980, and served for six years in the Manhattan Litigation Bureau of the New York State Department of Law as a Deputy Assistant and then Assistant Attorney General under Robert Abrams. She later practiced in northern New Jersey and in Western New York.
Ms. Rennie is admitted to practice in New York State and Federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.

She is a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Erie County, and the Western New York Chapter of the Women's Bar Association of New York. She is a member of the Board of Directors of Housing Options Made Easy, Inc.
Ms. Rennie is a magna cum laude graduate of the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and a cum laude graduate of the University at Buffalo Law School, where she taught legal research and writing.
